I always used this download manager to download files. Suddenly about a week ago it did not work, I tried everything and eventually I updated the program to latest version but it still is US?

Anyone use this program, anyone with same problem?

I used to be big fan of FDM but after a few corrupt Ubuntu CD ISO's I stopped using it. Using Flashget now.

Ditto.

FDM corrupted a few things for me, I've moved to flashget and it rocks. integration with Firefox is also great.

Funny you should mention that. Same thing happened to me with FDM. Definitely a bit dodge this proggie.
Try another one.

I use FDM and it works fine with me, using it along with FlashGot is a great way of leeching lots of files off a site at once.

Btw, have they got rid of that spy/adware in FlashGet yet? I'm sorry but any app that makes my AV go beserk is coming off.

? My AVG has never complaineda bout it, ever.

Yeah, I've heard about this. AFAIK Flashget used to be adware, so there were some issues with reported talkback etc; but that might have just been the program fetching ads/or click stats.. anyway, apparently since a few versions ago it was completely free and clean... but I'm not too fussed. I've monitored it with Process Explorer and it seems to be behaving.

I'm using FDM v2.1 with no problem at all. I used to use Star Downloader and still have it installed but FDM is a bit more flexible. (I call it from Firefox with the Flashgot extension.)

I just disable the so-called 'community' features. Don't need that invasion.

I've tried a lot of download managers over the years and I think FDM is pretty good. What is the problem you're having? Won't open, won't start a download, won't complete a download correctly?

Could the problems be with ptc sites? Some (fortunately rare) web servers don't report the file size in the header and no download manager can reliably cope with that - can't tell for certain when the download has completed.
