There is no perfect middleman (which I know of). K3b + Acetoneiso + direct use of mkisofs (if you really need to tweak) do a pretty good job though.

ISOs are not suitable for what you are planning. You need mds/mdf because those can overcome RMPS which you'll need for most semi-current games. That or use a crack.

The closest you'll get is a 30 day trial for Alcohol 120%. That and Daemon and Yasu should overcome most protections without a crack. After 30 days you won't be able to make more images though.

I need a nice FREE app to make backup ISOs of my game CDs. Must obviously be able to overcome any sort of copy protection.

LOL, I'm sure if you can afford the games, you can afford a copy of Alchol 120% $44 ATM. However, some games have checks for Alcohol 120% and won't run if it detected. Download the cracked executables, it's the cheapest.

PowerISO. The Free version still lets you create ISO's, BIN's etc without having to pay. It's what I use to backup/copy my games.

get this DVD Decryptor. it writes ISO and reads it and a 2 other things. i use it to burn ISO images. really good and its a freeware.
