List your free kick specialists.

I remember Ronaldo having some great strikes last season. The best in my opinion was when he beat James from way out! That was a superb strike.

How many goals did Ronaldo score from free kicks?

Robinho has proven that he will be taking the free kicks for City. Seems like Chelsea has also found their specialist in Deco.

Roberto Carlos has to be one of my all time favourites to watch when he is taking free kicks. Of recent times i would say that in my opinon Ronaldinho is my all time great. He could bend a ball around a wall so easy.

I remember two seasons ago when Barca played Bremen in the CL. Everybody anticipated that Ronaldino will try to bend it around the wall, so the Bremen players thought they could jump to try and put him off.

They jumped and he kicked the ball on the ground UNDER the wall into the back of the net. That was memorable.

Well, Gerrard is good, Lampard and Drogba, although Deco beats them.

Ronaldo is very good, if not the best.

Drogba is one of my favorite when it comes to free kicks. Hargreaves (sp?) as well.
Rooney used to be good at some point (maybe still is).

There was a guy named Sinisa Mihajlovic who used to play for Lazio, was widely regarded as one of the best free-kick takers.

Juninho of Lyon is also very deadly especially from long range, he has a technique that makes the ball take a vicious swerve just before reaching the goals.

Geovanni of Hull also hit a tremendous free-kick a week or so ago. :-)

I think he's one of the best atm, if not the best.

Gerard is brilliant!!

Lapmpard doesnt really do it for me. He scores alot of goals like Gerrard from way outside of the box but he doesnt score as much from spot kicks as Gerrard.

Geovanni had an absolutely amazing strike a few weeks back.

I dont think Ronaldo is the best, thats why i wanted to know how much he scored from free kicks.

Its funny to see Deco take free kicks now actually, he never took it at Barca.

Oh and Heita - Rooney sucks at free kicks man :D He wants to pass the ball through the wall :D

He never took them at Barca because Ronaldinho was the first choice, and at that time he was by far the best and most inventive taker in the world.

Roberto Carlos at his prime was the best, remember his free kick against France!!!

When Ronaldinho didnt play. Xavi took the free kicks. So Deco was not even second choice.

id have to go for Juninho of Lyon and Pirlo of Ac milan ,alex del piero also excellent ,and dont forget about becham he can still bend it ,but i have to agree Gerrard has been brilliant from free kick over the past 2 seasons

Juninho is the best atm, tho in their prime it was Roberto Carlos and David Beckham. I cant believe Beckhams name hasn't popped up here once with the amount of Man u fan bois around!

dude check my earlier post i mentioned beckham and im not a manure fan :)
but you have to give him props as he deadly from free kicks

What do u think of Beckham as a midfielder?

I am no Beckham fan but i give him prop - there is one thing he can do, and thats bend a ball.

Sinisa Mihajlovic was a legend free kick taker , he could stike them with amazing pace and bend.Zidane, becks , ronaldinho + Mario Basler ( ex bayern munich player who scored in the 99 champions league final against united ) , koeman , del piero , Branco ( better free kicker taker then roberto carlos.

Roberto Carlos at his prime was the best, remember his free kick against France!!!

It was 1 great free kick.I think u got caught up in the moment.Branco will always be the better of the two.

i agree roberto carlos had a crap record from free kicks ,his ratio was perthetic for a so call world class free kick specialist ,he would take all the free kicks and score 1 a season ,for me he was only famous for that free kick against france ,which i rate as the greatest free kick of all time ,but saying he was one of the greatest free kick tackers is abit over the top my 2cent :D
