I ran into something quite unique and interesting on YouTube recently that is bound to fascinate anybody interested in the limits of the human body. It is a free running “game” where you choose what the character should do next based on options provided to you in the video. The “game” features free running guru Tim “Livewire”
Shieff and British tumbler and free runner Damien Walters.
This rather unique video session has only recently been published to YouTube and features both men doing absurd gymnastic and building hopping tricks on top of buildings. The series of videos have been posted on the 17th of August and is sure to be a massive hit with visitor tallies climbing exponentially.
The videos also show off some of the amazing tricks of the French born art of Parkour which is all about efficient movement over obstacles with the human body as transport vehicle. These disciplines have now found their way into popular culture with even James Bond now moving this way whenever he gives chase since the last two Bond movies.
Television ads (especially motor vehicle ads for some reason) now sport Parkour and free running often. If you are keen to see this “game” please follow the links below. I am also including links to Wikipedia entries on the topics. Once you start looking around for some of these and related videos you will be amazed at what the human body can actually do!
