If that makes sense.

I use slawdog to shut down my PC, but am looking for something that'll wake it up.
Like an alarm clock to wake me up.
Googling gives results, but what is the best option here?

Running XP.

TIA

You could use the Wake timer on your motherboard. I know my old motherboard had that and it used to startup every morning at 6.30 and start backing up its hard drive to the server and by the time I woke up, it was fully backed up and I was ready to work/play. You could set it to startup at a certain time then find an alarm clock program and run it in startup like I run my backup program and keep your speakers on. That should wake you up

With my PC that would be a tad noisy... I think just the sound of my PC turning on would wake me up instantly.

I use a program called "alarm clock". It's freeware just have to search for it, try download.com. You can set time and day for your alarm and can also select a music file to play as the alarm. Just crank up the volume on your speakers set the time and bingo.

Just check your BIOS for wake events, probably in power management or something like that, you can choose what time you want it to turn on each day.

Try finding it on www.osalt.com
I was looking for one to shut down my pc, and they have a lot with some unique features. I'm sure you'll find one that can wake up your PC.
