Hey guys, I tried to get the free-to-air channels on my DSTV 1110 (+2) decoder last night, but couldn't get it working.

I followed this guide: http://radioland.co.za/step_by_step_guide_to_tune_in_free_to_air_channels.html

I got the IS7/10 option when pressing the TV button on my remote at the end of the process, but there were only 2 channels, no picture, just an error box to say I'm not allowed to view (or something like that) :(

Am I missing something that the guide is not telling me?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry Sir,but we happily left the IS7 satellite. Please find us on Sirius 4.

Try this link?

I have found that sometimes you need to just be persistent, it doesn't always work the first few times. Trying rebooting the decoder, etc. Also, installers usually only set te dish enough to get DSTV and the dish needs to be moved slightly just to get the FTA channels as they apparently have a weaker signal. Good Luck!

sorry to burst your bubble but dstv removed the option to view the FTA channels on the 1110 and later decoders , dont bother moving your dish

I have a 1110 and a 1131 with latest software and the FTA channels work fine!

I don't see why they'd remove the option and then openly tell you how to do it on their own forums. (As in, an MC Admin giving advice on how to get it working).
