Free Up Cell Cartel

Rofl, ICASA cant (or dont want to) see the wood for the trees.

aaa just another way of milking the cash cow! but the cash cow doesn't like it no more.

For me, the biggest issue is not the Cell to cell calls (MTN-Vodacom etc. but it is still a big issue, don't get me wrong) but rather the costs of Telkom to Cell to Telkom.
Whose responsible for these high costs? The Cell companies or Telkom? As far as I understand all cell calls are routed through Telkom exchanges anyway! So arn't we being milked here by Telkom in anycase? Can anyone shed some light here?

I remember reading that the cell companies interconnect made up most of the cost for a call Telkom->Cell. Shocking thing is Telkom is more innocent in this case

ICASA wont do anything unless Telkom gives them permission.

Does anyone actually have any faith in ICASA anymore?

I absolutely have zero faith in Icasa to do anything about the problem

One of the Cell operator executives just need to give a buddy in goverment a call and Icasa will be told to spew out another "there is no proof costs are too high" statements

So ICASA is going to tackle this and do the same job they did on the adsl/broadband issue.
Couple of free lunches for it's fat ccats.. ermm investigators (or whatever) wit free booze included. Dont forget the flashy hotels.
And they'll produce a paper that's worthless for all intents and purposes after 3 years. Just to show that they did something other than eating and drinking
