Doesn't Vista also come with Windows Movie Maker? As far as making a DVD goes it should be adequate. Just import your AVI file into Movie Maker and click on Make DVD.

It then opens Windows DVD Maker which will only let me add three AVI files of 40 mins in length...There seems to be no way to compress them??

So I went for the Windows Movie Maker route. It has been busy an hour, and has managed 39.8% of encoding three 40 minute episodes so far :( Is this really all there is?

Try something called dvdflick, i used it last year and it seems ok

Dunno what I did wrong but it burnt something for over an hour and then I ended up with a blank DVD. :(

?? Didn't use the programme that much, but i did a few dvds and never had that??

Go to Baldricks' site: www.videohelp.com
look under Tools (on the left) and select the category you want.

There are many to choose from, especially free ones. Download and try for yourself :).

you can try uSeesoft DVD Creator, it is well performing in convert and burning variety of videos including avi to DVD files or DVD disc. :)
