Freelander II - thoughts advice please.

swap keys often!
Those keys recharge in the ignition and you are in for a world of pain if one completely dies.
Something a mate of mine told me after finding out the hard way.

So you cannot change the batteries in the remote? I only have one key!

I was there at Matroosberg on Saturday - Freelander 2 - but could not get past the one bend - steep up hill - with a turn to right, and then a nice step. Tried twice, but was burning the clutch & tyres a bit - so gave up. Maybe with a bit of lift and better tyres you can do it. I also need bit more practice with the FL2, and time to play with the different settings. Just for the record - behind me as a Disco 2 V8 that tried about 5 or 6 times - gave up and then tried later again and made it. Feeling a litter bit better:D

I know that bend, it is quite tricky. Also had to attempt it twice/thrice when I went there with my Disco2.

No shame at all, and you are right, with some MT tyres and a lift you may well have made it.

Hey, how's the Freelander 2 treating you and your wife?

Solid! It is a beast. Only issues so far: Battery died, LR replaced it at no cost. Back windscreen wiper stopped working. Front left passenger door wouldn't unlock. All was sorted by them.

She is out of warranty now, but only has 60k on the dial, going to keep it for another few years for sure.

Thanks for the feedback, that's good to hear as I'm considering it. How's the fuel consumption?

Really not bad, about 10.6l and that is all town driving, kids to school, shops etc.

It is way better open road, can't remember the figures.
