Hi,

My laptop froze for a few seconds (see my specs in my signature). After it froze, it made a beep. This is not the first time my laptop has froze.

What is the issue with my laptop?

Thanks.

Would help if you told us the make & exact model (as per the sticker on the bottom) of the laptop.

I'll go with overheating GFX card... does this happen when you plat 3D games?

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. My laptop is a Dell XPS L502X (Dell XPS L502X-9453 <-- This is my model number on my sticker). Today my freeze happened shortly after playing NFS The Run.

most Dells have a 3 year on site warranty, give them a call.

From what I have read here, it seems there is an issue around the Nvidia Optimus Technology.

Only thing I can suggest is to update your laptops bios to the latest version and the latest drivers for the gpu.

Thanks, I will be doing that, I upgraded my laptop bios so far, my nvidia driver is 301.42 (I think thats the latest one so far). I can't update my Intel HD Graphics driver for some reason, i downloaded one from Intel's website for Intel HD Graphics 3000.
