Bit of a last resort but Im pulling my hair out with random freezing in Windows 10.

Ive got a hp elitedesk 805 g6 running Windows 10.

Basically the computer HARD freezes for a couple of seconds - so hard the ethernet stops working, often dropping teams calls etc. Sometimes the screens go black.

Its nevers fully crashes. Just freezes then carries on.

I have managed to get it to happen pretty reliably whenever I change from Mail to Calendar in outlook and pretty much 100% if I right click on something in my calendar!? Also if I've got a big excel document open it does seems worse (maybe???)

Using resource mon shows CPU is not under huge strain, memory is quite full (7Gb of 8GB?)
Could this be heat? Power? Just software?

Any help on even what I should try to start getting to a solution would be greatly appreciated!

How big is your Outlook PST file? - Have you ever archived Outlook to reduce size of the Outlook.PST file? - the Archive.PST file is stored locally in your 'Documents' folder, in a sub-folder called 'Outlook Files' - so it must be regularly backed up to the cloud (OneDrive) and an external HDD, together with your primary Outlook.PST file, for security & redundancy.

What tasks is eating the CPU and memory ?

Thanks for the tips about PST file guys. Will try archiving some stuff and see what happens..

Ps. The outlook is managed by the company - so there is Online Archive... Wonder if that counts as a large PST file too?

Format and reinstall. When was the last time you formatted, if not how old is the laptop.
