Frequency of IP address changes

Over the last 12 hours our IP address at work has changed 4 times. Is this normal?

Our mailserver overseas seems to be getting confused with all these changes and thus our mail goes down frequently.

Your ip isnt changing by itself if you were wondering... your connection has probably been disconnecting and then reconnecting, hence the new ip's..

@ ajax : what are you using - dynamic adsl or static adsl?

Using dynamic IP in conjunction with dyndns.

so is the disconnects after an exact number of hrs(<24hr) ? If so time to findout from your isp whats up. If its dropping alot then the might be something up with your line Telkom intervention/call centre is needed. Need to check you router for log OR just check with SASA whats the interval is

Which ISP are you using?

What is your mail setup like?

The Netgear router seemed to have caused the problem - it just kinda froze by itself.
Swopped out the thing and had no problems since then.
