I'd rather have thieves than billionaire ideologues. Thieves behave logically. Ideologues do not, especially when they don't have skin in the game because they already have so much money. And the voters are more likely to grow tired of the thievery as opposed to enticing promises of utopia. It seems both paths will lead to collapse, anyway. Given the choice, I'd choose the path involving simple mass looting rather than the more sinister and irreversible path Ramaphosa started down. Ironically, he possibly did that only to get enough support to ward off the thieves. Once the thieves are back, they will only pay matters like the suspension of property rights lip service as cover to carry on thieving, but will probably never truly follow through as they need to maintain the golden goose for as long as possible.
Everything Ramaphosa has embarked on was initiated by the thieves. Expropriation has been ANC policy for some time. Ramaphosa simply followed through due to pressure from within the party.
