"Fresh" salmon

The kind the fish counter at supermarkets have is it farmed or wild? I've asked a few assistants behind the counter and they couldn't answer.

It depends on the stores and the fish they are selling. I know here in KZN at some of the supermarkets we get freshly caught "wild" fish, but inland it's mainly farmed fish from what I've seen.

A lot of the "salmon" on sale is trout. Pink fish is not always salmon. I eat quite a bit of trout and it's awesome.
