Fridge not cooling

Last time we had to regas our old fridge it cost use R500 and that was over a decade ago, so R1,200 doesn't sound that bad

and so it begins....after the regas it was working until today!
now they tell me...the compressor needs to be replaced....this fridge is only about +-3 years old.

going to call hisense tomorrow...should have done it from the beginning.

I had this EXACT same thing last year. Guy came out, needs regas sir. Worked 2 days and same thing. Sir, you need a new compressor, bought one myself and the guy installed it,,didn't cool like it should. Then he said something else is broken. I told him fukoff,,sold the fridge to these people on gumtree that buys fridges and bought a new one.

It is the process of treating the symptoms not fault-finding the real problem. So by elimination, they will keep going until you have replaced the entire fridge.

So Hisense clearly don't see how urgent this is....
i logged a call last night, and tried calling them now and i have been transferred to a voicemail.

so , any idea if Makro will send a technician?
i did buy it from them

latest update , i am still without a working fridge but Hisense/makro authorized a replacement for me.
Anyone got this one?
i like the 5 years warranty.....
I see the water dispenser does not require a plumbing connection, so it means you will need to manually fill a tank. So, it is just like an old fashioned water bottle. Personally, that is just a weak point of the insulation of the fridge and far more trouble than it is worth.

You don't want that believe me, you don't want that! Talk about maintenance headaches, issues with water quality, leaks, freezing pipes etc. It is one of the more stupid ideas ever.

Earlier I thought of writing "You should have bought a KIC" but decided not to be that guy.

But now you mention it, KIC has a pretty good and well deserved reputation as an affordable quality brand (at least for fridges and freezers, I don't know what else they make). I bought a basic KIC fridge when I was 19. I had to have it regassed once becuase young idiot me transported it on its side (apparently that's a no-no with fridges). Other than that it's given no trouble, despite being moved house a dozen times, including all the way accross county on the back of a bakkie twice. When I left SA I gave it to a friend who was in a tough spot. She still has it, also moved multiple times, no drama. That fridge is over 20 years old now.

That's my 2 cents (do they even make those anymore?)

shew....the issues i am having with Makro are unbelievable.
First they kept me waiting for an hour yesterday and told me they can't find the invoice, then i found out they are not using the makro card number i gave them, then they told me to come and choose another fridge, after i did that , they told me i actually need to go to another branch, i went there this morning to find out the price went up by R800!!!
