Not too long ago, I started a thread on baby marrows and alternative ways of preparing them. One of the kind posters gave a recipe for baby marrow fritters. Wow, were they good!

Would love to try some other ideas for fritters. Do you ever make them and what do you use?

I will probably try corn next, but spice things up by adding chilli.

Googling 'savoury fritters' gives some results that look pretty yummy.

This is probably going to get shot down just as fast as Pooky's pumpkin fritters, but banana fritters are amazing. :erm:

Adaptable too - cinnamon sugar if you want them sweet, otherwise just add a little cinnamon to the batter for a not-so-sweet treat.

Hmm.
Pumpkin fritters, yummy.
Without doubt tomorrow.

Stuff savoury.
Pumpkin fritters covered in cinnamon sugar in winter, yummmmmmmm!

You can try aubergine/egg plant/brinjal, but it's not as good as pumpkin fritters, yummmmmm

Vegetable Pakoras/Onion Bhajis.

Batter: 3 tbpsn Gram flour or Chana flour, 1 tspn each Garam Masala, Corianda, Cumin plus Chilli to taste and salt.

Combine flour and spices in a bowl. Add water to make a fairly stiff paste. Add chopped raw vegetables(Pakoras) and/or onions (onion bhaji).
Form batter into ping pong ball size portions using 2 table spoons and shallow fry with plenty of oil or deep fry until crispy and golden brown.

For onion bhajis I cut the onions into about 2cm slices but this isn't. For other vegetables (potato, carrot, cauliflour are good) cut into small dice.

My vote goes for a banana + coconut mix :)

I saw your post only now. :( But I did buy a coconut for no particular reason, so it's banana & coconut fritters for breakfast in the morning. :D
