Frogfoot Dual ONT Box

HI, anyone familiar with the newer Dual ONT boxes Frogfoot are installing these days?
Attached photo.

It makes a really annoying high pitched ringing sound the whole time, similar to old fashioned TVs.
I assume its just some internal electronics vibrating as current passes over, but its super annoying and wondering if its possible to stop it?
Im powering it with a 12v 24w power adaptor.

You are describing coil whine.

Had the same noise on my GTX 460 when a games intro played at 1200 FPS, you will have to ask for a replacement.

Have you tried another same spec PSU?

ANnoyingly they didnt even supply a PSU they just used one from my old ont box that was lying around. I will give them a call.. Its super annoying i cant work with this whining going on.. Wasnt an issue on the old black ONT box i used to have.

That piece of Chinesium has cheap inductors in it's regulator section, that's what you're hearing. Coil whine is the colloquial term for a broader type of design flaw.

That looks like it's from a company called CIG they manufacture onts for multiple vendors and service providers, the specific model actually looks like a wifi unit

Nah seems to be a Calix Gigahub WiFi thing. The whine could be from an inadequate power supply, since the OP said they re-used the previous PS and didn't use a new one.

Yes you are correct, it is a CIG, i see on top it has a serial number starting with CIG, so they came a replaced it with the exact same model, seems to be ringing less but can still hear it. I think the power supply with the other one was actually the correct PSU, it is exactly the same as the new one they used. Incidentally, my old one i had at my previous flat was a calex, and that didnt make any sound.
