Hi,

Is anyone else experiencing issues with Frogfoot in Pretoria? My fiber died 15:15 today. I've just been through the tedious process with Afrihost: switching off the ONT, waiting 5 minutes, plugging into the ONT, waiting 5 minutes... still nothing. Anyway, I don't know who else to ask so hopefully I can get an answer from you guys.

Cheers.

Big area outtage in the Moot. Apparently Frogfoot is busy resolving the issue...

Hi.

I'm sorry you had to go through all the first-line checks; the outage was not yet confirmed with Frogfoot. I believe services have been restored now.

As stated, we need confirmation first from the Fibre network provider for us to update our network status page and notify our clients via SMS. If no Comms have been received we do notify the FNO the high number of faults we are receiving so the issue out an official confirmation if issue is on the side.
They may be have posted the the start time of the outage but confirmation was only received an 1 hour later.

Thanks @Afrigirl
Services have been restored. I had to contact Afrihost support because I work evening shifts via VDI and my connection dropped while I was in a meeting so it kinda sucked that I had to go through all the usual schlep for no reason. I am seriously considering moving over to a 5g package with a reliable service provider as the risk to my job is too high relying on fibre.

The problem with 5G or any LTE service is the towers in our area go down during loadshedding
