I can see the use for reflective and logical paradigm languages such as LISP and Prolog, yet when confronted with a problem that could be solved with either one of them I would rather build an elaborate state machine in C# to solve it that bother with LISP or Prolog.

These languages pre-date both C# and Java.

I always thought of Cobol programmers as *very awkward* people. Back in the 90's the SBSA crowd used to wear cowboy boots and leather hats and most of them had their own coffee-plungers on their desks (and the older guys always had yellow cigarette stained beards). There was however mutual respect between the "green-screen-cowboys" and us C++/assembler developers who had multi-color screens and mice

I am very glad I missed that but it was still part of lectures. Im a OOP man and even my javascript needs to follow suit even if the other devs make it hard for me.
