The situation:
I received an hourly contracting gig via recruitment agency and was employed by the agency who was contracted by companyX.

I found a posting on Company X's career portal for a perm position similar to my role and I applied for the post and I am almost at the end of the interview process already having passed their technical assessment).
The thing i am worried about now is the salary .The post itself did not show the salary range and i am worried about Company X being the first to speak to my current company when negotiating to settle the contract so they can make me perm. When applying for the post there was no salary range stipulated.

Should I speak to my recruitment agency(current employer) first before manger at X does( their HR asked if i had notified my agency of my intention but I think i made the mistake of actually asking my current manager at X if i should speak to them and they said no they (Manager at X will speak to my company) .
The issue i am worried about is the salary.
I would actually want the agency to negotiate a higher offer than what i am getting on the contract
because the contract I am on ,even though the rate equaled my net from a previous perm position i did not factor the benefits, leave days, sick days etc therefore in essence i lost out( my fault I did not think that part through).

The part is i am scared that X being the contractor payer already will be given my current rate and think this is the "risk factored rate" I took therefore in essence offer me a lower salary on the basis of things like benefits etc. but essentially it would bring my salary lower than what my previous permanent employment was and also lower my current net or also my agent simply agreeing to the offer X presents after they have agreed to their buyout money and give them my current or even worse a lower rate for which at some point i stated i would be my absolute minimum
Any advice .
Should i speak to my agency(current employer first)

You should definitely negotiate your new salary before anybody talks to your current company!
