As the tittle says
Started off with a telkom 2meg connection
as we are 1.3km from exchange though we could get away with it for streaming
we stream series sport news and the odd movie
the odd day it would be enough
so we moved to a 4meg
better, however we have had many issues
1st telkom could not do the installation couz the available line had faults, after 3 Weeks blew the gasket and stirred the pot, then the line got sorted
when I changed from 2meg to 4 meg, telom changed the account however not the line speed, 3 Weeks later again that issue got sorted out
meantime I have logged a few faults, however still not happy
Speed test 3.5 -3.6meg
however it still buffers
Samsung note 8 on 3g, telkom mobile, not wifi, 3.6 - 3.7 can watch the same program/content with o buffering
last week Tuesday/Wednesday, had almost no connection, when I complained to telkom, was told that I was being throttled
apparently we had used 65gig in October
when I wanted to cancel, retention offered to help, believe my port got changed, worked for a while, went slow again and was back to the usual the next day
was also offered a discount and a call back, however have not had a call back , so am unsure about the discount
however the buffering persists
called Neotell today
yes for slightly more money, was offered a 4meg LTE connection, uncapped
they also have a fair use policy, however throttling will only happen after 400gig
however it will then shift to a 2meg connection
however 400gig is a lot of downloading
telkom can't tell me at what point throttling starts, and just say I am abusing the connection
we have canceled our DSTV, and have no intention or reconnecting it
hence why we need the connection
is the move to Neotell LTE a wise move
