Frustrated now!!

what i posted above was all i saw, to make sure i will check again.

from my post above can i assume that the pc should boot from cd first then ide1, whatever that is, but that it should be the original hd - primary master?

Well that's what if you set it to, then yes it should boot from the cd first. However the primary master is IDE 0 not IDE 1..

IDE0 = usually takes your main ( boot drive ) and a cd-rom

IDE1 = can take additional cd-roms or hard drives.

Not sure what the place round the corner did but if your old drive is not C then you need to look in

D:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

or

E:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Also the \User\ may be something else on your pc - it's the name at the top of your program list when you click Start - the same as the name on your login welcome screen.

And yes, your boot sequence should be:-

boot sequence - cdrom
2nd boot device - ide0
3rd boot device - disabled
boot from other device - yes

What I was trying to say. I think he thought I meant the actual physical channel on the motherboard lol.

Primary Master = IDE 0
Primary Slave = IDE 1
Secondary Master = IDE 2
Secondary Slave = IDE 3

In the BIOS that is the way it is set.

to everyone on this thread i wanna give a massive, huge thank you for helping me ...ITS BACK......i checked the settings and changed the ide1 to ide0 and it worked.
