Frustrating IS Newserver

I am getting no joy from the IS Newserver. The first file I have tried to download firstly took almost 2 days. Now I am sitting with 10 .par files with not a clue on what to do with them.
It was a cached file I have tried to download and keeps loosing the connection.

Everytime it states 100%. But there are no movie files, only .par and .r00 files. Does this make any sense.
 
I don't think you're the only one. It's been going up and down since yesterday. Tested cached stuff and it does not even download as if its cached. Weird.

...Files just stop and start constantly.

Rather dont start a new thread for that, there are current ones with regards to speed etc on the IS news server. There are very informed people on newshost.za.net who would be able to help aswell as the cached status is normally reflected for IS's server.
If you have a whole bunch of .r01 .r01 files then they are all parts of the rar archive that is used. I would recommend finding the .rar file and trying to extract that with Winrar as that will automatically call on the .r* files in order providing none are missing.

Yes. Go to newshost.za.net and check under HELP.

.r00 files can be extracted just like .rar files. But first read the Help section.
 
ok well enigma u know you need winrar plus a par program?

or just tell grabit to decode for you must easier
 
A file normally is broken up into a couple pieces. eg 1-10. The nzb normally list a few par files. The par files are there to fix corrupt pieces if you have any.

Get a program called quickpar. What i always do is once i have all the pieces for a particular file, i make sure i get the main par file. Its normally only around 250K The rest don't bother with.

If you double click on the mian par file, itll start quickpar, and a quick scan of all the pieces will take place giving a detailed view on the pieces. If a piece is missing itll be highlighted in red, To fix that just download that piece. If its orange, then just download the par files which correspond with the particular volume number. Quickpar will then automatically fix that file. If they all are green, then all all is fine.

All you need to do then is use winrar to extract the files. This involves double clicking on one of the pieces, winrar will automatically include the rest for unzipping. Unzip then your done.

Its very simply once you understand what is going on.
 
I get full speed, cached or uncached. So I dunno what you guys are on about :/

Well, i guess that grants me in the elite club of elite's that know how to get full speed on cached/uncached stuff.

lol dude I already told you ;) You said the process was too long for you. Your choice if you wanna fork out the extra for SAIX

would that be a mega byte or a kilo byte? cos i would still pm if it was a kilo :D
