I've often felt that some tech companies, especially software companies, are deliberately bad and this is successful in driving revenue. Something like a Matrix effect where The Architect describes human nature in a white room full of screens.
Like the many major flaws of Samsung - phones going boom. Or like most accounting software that has very limited features and in the case of cloud based business software having some sort of outage on a daily basis. Or banks (or Substandard Bank) having a total outage every single month end on payday. I am stuck on S's, I know. Yet, Samsung, Sage and Substandard Bank are some of the biggest companies in their specific field - region dependent.
Having your name mentioned a million times is great for SEO - even if negative - as search engines do not look at context when indexing.
Two weeks ago we made a mistake with software I work on, not a big one, but enough to create a bit of a buzz and increase signups with double digit growth.
Vent over. Sadness continues.
