Hi, I've been struggling the last few days to upgrade my line from 384k to 1024k.
A few days after putting in the upgrade order, I received a call from them saying that my line has been upgraded.
One reset of the router later however, and my router still reported the same slow as hell line rate.
After phoning Telkom about a million times, they maintain that according to their system my line has in fact been upgraded. So now I'm in a situation where Telkom says my line has been upgraded but I can see that it hasn't been done, and I'm stuck in a sort of limbo. I've logged a fault and received a reference number but haven't received a call from any technicians yet.
Now the only other option is that the line has in fact been upgraded but somehow my router doesn't want to sync at 1024k. My question is, are there any setup changes that need to be made, or is the fault solely down to Telkom and if so what can I do to fix this debacle?
Here is a report from the ol' Dlink:
Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin (dB): 30.3 22.0
Attenuation (dB): 24.0 13.0
Output Power (dBm): -0.9 4.4
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 10400 1000
Rate (Kbps): 384 128
PS: Sorry for the long post
