Being on Prepaid from Vodacom for many years about 8 months ago I swapped to Virgin, I got all the standard services and i decided ok ill spend a few hundred a month so to I took one of those V plans.

Man they must have 4 Ditital tapes of me complaining over the months Still to this day I do not have a SMS Service. Seriously is their Technical Department totally inept?

I stopped the V plan service after what feels like the 100th call, they asked me if i would like to cancel the service and took offense when i asked what service. How many times must technical support really call, how many times must i key in the same codes because the operator has to follow the guide cards. No it must be my phone, Yes its all 4 of them! And the Vodacom Sim card that works btw, is obviously not.

I cant imagine a first world company getting away with this in their own country why here, Why piss us off. GPRS is a Joke.

I cant just give up the number i need it for business but hell you get what you pay for. I understand there will be those of you out there who worship the company, and get no issues. misguided as you may be to believe its a real service and excused and explanations of the woes of having no controls over the networks in which they reside is no excuse. Im curious if anyone else has this problem.

I've been with Virgin from the start, as I know by now, most of their issues I have sorted out.

Check the CellC/Virgin EDGE forum on the index, that's where most of the Virgin issues are dealt with (if VM reps are there btw).

My list of complaints include up to this point:
No Vrewards, or Vrewards that don't get added when they should
I can sms but the reply gets delayed if I use the Virgin Network (Cellc), so I manually set my phone to connect to Vodacom, then that problem goes away.

My diverts are screwed since day one, I'm not a business customer, so I don't really use it, but it worked when I was on Vodacom in 2005.

That's about it, I also had numerous calls to and from tech support when my old phone displayed "file format unkown", but I figured out it's because my phone is too outdated, it can't view html, only xhtml ;) :D :p

Hi Guys,

The problem you are having with SMS and GPRS can be ressolved. I really would like to apologise for the bad experience you have had this far. Pls PM me your number so that i can check if your your number is provisioned for data services after port. The v Rewards problem has been sorted and we are awaiting allocations for the current month.

xtenda, I feel your pain man. I have several pages worth of complaints against Virgin Mobile. I used to be a huge virgin supporter, but no more. I find their service and support completely and utterly disgusting. I dealt with numerous people - they gave me incorrect information, I was lied to, I was mislead, I was given false promises and I was later ignored. I eventually contacted the CEO and only then did I get results. It took over a month to get a simple problem sorted out. Never again will I support Virgin Mobile, they are an absolute disgrace. Richard Branson would be shocked if he knew what was actually going on over here.

Good to hear I'm not alone with this. When the service first started I thought wow maybe just maybe, but here we are. Thanks for the mail Teraside!

Pleasure dude ;) Hope you get it sorted.

Pathetic again VM, Pathetic  And CellC's free calls cannot be blamed because this is the kind of service we get during the week as well.
It takes from 3 to 5 min to open a web page.
