So I have resigned from my work at Standard Bank and decided to no keep my company car.

I will be trading in my current baby (Giulietta Distinctive :( ) for a Mito QV Sport. Arnold Chatz is doing an amazing deal for me on the Mito which I don't think I will be able to match anywhere else!

The problem is with finance...

Standard Bank will not finance my car on my current salary because I am busy working in my notice at Standard Bank... which is understandable I suppose. But here is the rub - they also won't finance me on my new salary because I have not started there yet.... My letter of appointment states my employment date is 1 August 2012 so Standard Bank is saying I must apply after the 1st of August. WTF????

I am getting seriously frustrated as I need to have finance by the first of August otherwise the Giulietta is going to auction where I will be held responsible for whatever shortfall there might be.

Can anyone here help with some advice as to what I can do??

Apply at another institution? SB are just giving you **** for the sake of it or sour grapes, an appointment letter is more than enough for you to apply for finance.

Speak to FNB.
Seriously. Once you aren't staff at the Big Blue anymore, there is zero reason to stay with them

Het jy nou al met MFC gepraat?

MFC is a no go.

ABSA approved the loan eventually... But at 12.5% interest. WHAAAA HA HA HA and they thought I would go for it. :D

SB eventually came back, apologised for stuffing me around and approved the deal at 9% interest. Gonna pick it up today!!! Yeeeehaaaaaaa!

HA HA HA HA....

Yeah all in one piece. gt86 is nice, but changing careers now and need wheels urgently. Trade was a problem so that is why I went back to Alfa - otherwise probably BMW. Will drive the Mito for a year or two and give it to the wifey, then I will trade her Aygo in on a gt86... ;)
