does anyone know any ftp links or sites where i can get them?

local would be good or anything locally that we could join cos local bandwidth is cheaper

dude, you're not gonna find any local ftp servers, bandwidth is too expensive and people aren't that generous in SA...
if you want international ftp servers try tuxrepublic.com they had an ftp section a while back, but it's pretty obvious you're not too clued up about pc's so rather stick to something like the news server...: http://www.newshost.za.net

Whas funny?

I do apologise Project X - sometimes things are too tempting! 127.0.0.1 is a special IP reserved for "this computer" ie: the one you are working on ie: "localhost" aka "loopback".

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Localhost for more info.

We were just ragging you.
:D

In that case then lol:D and its OK you got me good..:D

To answer your original question ( I'm not really the right person ) ftp.is.co.za has lots of Linux, if you are looking locally. Full version games and music, I don't know, locally - you'd have to weasel your way onto the dreadful local torrent sites. If you are on an IS account, maybe give up on FTP and look at their news (NNTP) server - lots of "stuff" available there. If you have international bandwidth then ... well... the sky's the limit.

No hard feelings?
