FTP Folder search

I have a hard drive plugged into my router using ES File Explorer on Android I used to be able to search the ftp folder and all the sub folders for a file. For a while now I am only able to search for a file within the folder. Did I change a setting or something or is it ES File Explorer or my device?

What router do you have? I found it impossible to find data on the external drive that is plugged into my router (D-Link).

And BTW, ES File Explorer became a rubbish bloatware application. I unfortunately had to remove it because of the bloat and ads.

Yep ES is terrible now probably going to change soon. What's super annoying now is that every time I try to open a document they won't allow me to set the default app because they have sponsored apps that you supposedly have to select.

Try Solid Explorer.
Can you access the ftp via your phones browser or through a computer?

Solid was the one I was going to try out. I only use it through ES on my android devices but I have used it from my computer before.
