FTP problems on MTN today

I have been using MTN for a while now to send files back and forth to the sites i am developing. Today for some reason i cannot transfer files.

I can connect, no problem but when i try to transfer files i get timeouts.

anyone else experience ftp problems ?

To be honest, I think MTN put a monkey in charge this week. They've made quite a few changes but never told anyone.

Hi,

Have you tried different transfer methods such as passive and non-passive? I don't know your host's setup, but it does seem you may have been using non-passive which can cause problems with the different port communication it uses.

If push comes to shove try using cPanel's File Manager to upload files

I just phoned MTN and the lady who 'helped me' stated My sim has been Gprs blocked and I must dial Star123Hash form my phone. To reactivate it.

Ofc It didnt work. I rephoned them and spoke to another consultant who promised me that teqnical staff will phone me back later, but didn't.


I'm suspecting this will go on for a few more weeks - They obviously didn't want to drag attention to this. Though I discovered when I dialed up after she 'unblocked my SIM the error changed from 619(whatever it means) to 767(Hardware not responding) and some others.. before my data card went bonkers and I lost any signal from MTN.

Still Error 619 at the moment. My Data Bundle counting down....

*Sigh* DoS is waiting for MTN if I loose any money

Take names and write them on a name & shame thread. I don't think this is acceptible. It is too commonplace.

Oh Im not really that serious about MTN. They are too burocratic for me, I'd just install a Satelite and use Private-Wireless with it. No problems.

You know you can get calls for cheaper when you phone online(internet to phone) than using our Mobile Infrastructure? ha ha

Good times we are living in. Telkom/Vodacom/MTN can go have the Idiots' money, not mine.
