FTP Uploading on Virgin

Hi!

Has Anybody had any success doing any ftp uploading on the Virgin network.

I can't upload to my website on the Virgin network (using my phone as a modem) nor can I log in with an FTP program (like FileZilla)

When i switch to mtn it works fine.

Please help

How stable does your Mirc, or MSN run over Virgin Network?? (pingouts/disconnections??)

msn runs fine

If you cant upload using FTP, try in PASV mode - my voda connection works when not in PASV, but Virgin FTP works in PASV.
You should have a checkbox option somewhere in your FTP program.
P.s. I use Core FTP (in case your program doesnt have the option)

i use File Zilla, not sure if it has PASV - it's an old version? but somebody showed me this link http://web2ftp.com which will do for the time being.

i tried SmartFTP which has PASV and it worked (thanks DBRasco!

however
i mostly upload directly from my web design program - netobjects fusion - but i cant do that on VM . i can on MTN and Telkom - havent tried Voda yet.

anyway the speed on VM has been terribly slow tonight. maybe too many users in this area!

I must thank DBrasco again as my web design program allows me to upload in Passive mode. So I'm able to upload on the VM network. That's good news for Virgin mobile!

My 2 cents: (not really of any importance)

Was worried about ftp uploading as well, but it's all systems go it would seem. I use ws_ftp pro and it works perfectly in passive mode as well, though it is a tad slower than MTN. But not complaining thus far...
