Howzat,

Any points would be appreciated.

I am currently with Mindthespeed (100/100Mbps @ R895/m, month-to-month) on Vumatel. I am looking a reliable, cheaper option. Using the Vumatel search tool, the following ISP are listed:
1. IPComms (24m contract)
2. ASAP (12m contract)
3. Supersonic (month-to-month)
4. Vodacom (month-to-month or 12m contract)
5. C-Way (month-to-month)
6. Wirulink (month-to-month)
7. Webafrica (month-to-month)

The cheapest is C-Way (R728/m), followed by Wirulink (R810/m).

Cheers.

I'd recommend afrihost, they have a big presence on the forum and generally have a great network. No problems from my side

Just slight more Rs than MTS. To be honest, I am happy with MTS (been with a customer since 2018). But, I need a cheaper option.

Out of those choices i'd say rather drop your speed and stay with someone like MTS if you really looking to save some money, during this cable break i know people on Vodacom and Supersonic (MTN) who basically can't do anything at night.

WebAfrica customer support you can look on the forums is a nightmare and that price is probably only valid for 3 months then it will go higher.

The others look very small guys whose network could be dodgy/bad or they could be fly by nights...

IPComms can't find an AS number for...

ASAP are using dimension data for transit so enjoy those problems https://bgp.he.net/AS328327#_asinfo

C-way can't find an AS number for...

If i had to Wirulink would be my choice using a blend of WIOCC and Workonline https://bgp.he.net/AS37564#_asinfo

Home Connect is just a few slight less Rs than MTS.

But at the R850 to R950 range for 100M seems to be the industry norm, I would say the only real way to save money with out losing service standard is a speed downgrade to 50M line

With the PT involved it would probably be easier to down grade to 50 and stay with MTS, rather than trying to move to a new ISP.

Drop down to 50mbps and go with Afrihost, WebSquad or Cool Ideas.
If you're trying to save bucks, rather get a ISP that's reliable

Mind the speed are great..was with them for 18 months.. Sadly I also left because of a better price,as they didn't have the package I required.. Try RocketNet to see what the offer..
