Fuel System Cleaner causing white smoke?

How often do you use it?

Who cares? You said yourself (more than once) that there was nothing wrong with your car. So why on earth are you fixated on spending money on snake oil to throw into it? Leave it alone - get it serviced when it needs it and fix things when they need fixing, but don't get suckered into scams that do nothing useful anyway.

The concentration is bit high but everything should be fine, fill up the tank to dilute it more. Petrol don't stay in the lines. There's a return line to your tank and the petrol in the tank mixes all the time.

Thanks a ton. I'll do exactly that this afternoon and monitor it for a few days

I'm very relieved to know this!

Silly me :o

I'll never use the stuff again. Lesson learnt

Update:

I filled up right after work and after 2 minutes of driving there was a VERY noticeable difference. A good one. The car feels much more responsive! The fuel consumption seems much better but I'll need to drive it for a few more days to be really sure.

I also haven't noticed any white smoke being expelled from the exhaust.

Have you tried any Liqui Moly products?

No. I don't need them, my car is running just fine.

But even if my car was in need of help, I'd still not spend my money unless I could find objective proof (not hearsay and "It feels much better" comments) that it actually does work.

Edit:- Having just had a look at their website, I'm curious to know which products you're talking about? All I see are things for cleaning, polishing and painting.

So none of these?

If all these fuel additives are supposed to be so good then why are fuel companies not selling them??

It's a real problem. Every time that I pump up my tyres, the car feels much more responsive, even though they weren't flat before.
Must try that some time. I haven't pumped tyres in years.

My cars go much better just after being cleaned. Must be the lower air resistance or something.

Tyres do actually make quite a bit of difference depending on what pressure change we are talking about here.

You can be a hell of a long way from flat but going from say 2.2 bar to 2.6 bar you can most certainly feel if nothing else than the ride quality changing.

And this can of course be factually correlated to the lap times and such as well if you really want to go there.

****

I know it's not quite the same but on a bike a .2 bar difference completely changes the turn-in of the motorcycle.
