Hi Everyone

Just a quick question.

I see that some lenses are 'full frame only' and I want to buy a lens for a Canon 7D, which is obviously not full frame.

How do I know which lenses are 'full frame only' or if I buy one, will it work on the 7D?

EF = work on both full-frame and crop sensor.
EF-S - Work on crop sensor only

There are no full frame only lenses in canon's line up - EF are full frame and APS-C (crop), EF-S are APS-C only… and EF-M are for their EOS M mirrorless body.

Thanks Bwana & Randhir

I was looking at the lens specs in What Digital Camera, and some were marked "Full Frame Only", that is why I asked.

Appreciate the replies.

It is implied above, but it does not hurt to state it explicitly: The principle of full-frame lenses working perfectly on crop sensor bodies also applies to third party lenses (Sigma, Tamron, Tokina) although they each have a different way of identifying full-frame capable lenses (DC vs DG, in Sigma's case).

I'm surprised.
