I have a LG w2343t LCD screen. My screen only has a DVI-D connector.Shouldn't there be a HDMI port aswell to make use of full HD cause I was told it is a full HD screen wrt DVI-D port.So it picks up full HD via DVI-D port?

I know it sounds dumb but any input would help cause I was under the impression that to have full HD
your screen must have a HDMI port wrt my 5850 GFX....

The difference between DVI and HDMI is very minimal, if non existent with regards to quality, you won't see any difference.

So no, your screen doesn't have to have a HDMI port to run Full HD.

The difference between HDMI and DVI.. is the fact that the HDMI capable pushes through the audio signal as well. the actual video section on HDMI and DVI is identical.

You can get an HDMI to DVI-D converter cable (or visa versa) if you wish. I have a cheap one, and it works well.

Nope. DVI ports can also carry the HDCP certification which means you can watch Blu-rays from Warner Brothers/ Disney through such a port at full HD.

DVI ports would not carry this spec if it wasn't possible to watch full HD via BD using them. Earlier monitors did not have HDMI ports.
