Hello everyone,

I have 80 - 90% signal with Iburst right now, yet I'm downloading at 10kb/s! How can this be? Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

It's total B/S! We're paying R700 a month for 10KB/s! Why do the connection speeds keep changing? This morning I had no problems, downloading at amost 100KB/s!

Tonight it's a different story. I can't stream, download... etc!!!

I have also noticed a HUGE slowdown. Downloaded some updates at 9.7KB/s ... pathetic ... normally around 110KB/s.

Exactly! This is what I call poor service! No use in calling the tech center, they'll just tell you to give it some time.....

Mine is also all over the place right now and changes between 300kbps to around 850kbps but not stable at all.

That's the problem with this country. Every damn ISP is linked to the same damn network and if something fails, they all suffer the loss.

Do you wbs/iburst will compensate us if this goes on for a long time? cause I can't load some sites now :(

You too heh? I don't think they will. If it's their system that failed, shey should, but I think that it's an Intl problem, yet there are people who are downloading normally!

Hi guys,

I'm also experiencing the same problem. I have 2 iburst connections (2 accounts).

Just around 10-20 kb/sec on international.

I have contacted the Support Centre, there is a problem with international browsing. I am not sure when they are going to fix this issue

Kevin

Im not shure if they can fix this issue, internatiojnal bandiwdth never goes through thier own links obviously, so it cannot be fixed directly by them like like local connectivity or tower outages.

I think they probably just wait for IS or SAIX or whoever to fix this, and its out of their hands. But maby they should be getting an alternative if they connection is out for too long.

I phoned the call centre as well a minute ago. They told me the same story as with Kev. There is a problem with international bandwith on the Iburst network. The consultant told me that they are currently working on it and it should be resolved by tomorrow evening.

I have same prob with 1 of the guys at the office I got iBurst for (still no ADSL avail).
Great signal 80-90% but speed not even 120kbps, user very disapointed in the speed... his 128k isdn was faster.
And this local traffic, not even int. (incl iBurst speed test)
Nobody expects 1Mbps all the time, but ave of about 600kbps would be very nice!
All this munny spent on tv & radio ads to promote 'fast' iBurst... the negative word of mouth on the street kills it all.... if they would just provide the service to give a good connection, happy customers' word of mouth would bring in way more business than media marketing.

Then one would think they'd go to the trouble of logging an incident :( Btw, the Radio Network JNB shows degradation and Honeydew base station is down, according to the Network Status page

Same here, iBurst is all over the place!

*And last night I reinstalled XP and needed all the updates - took more than 3 hours to download 96MB.

Yes, this suck. Same here, really getting frustrated.

Lets hope they sort it out as quickly as possible.

Just phoned their help line.

"We are having degradation on international browsing UHM.. Our technicians are looking into the problem and should have it resolved shortly"

Loosing my connection ...

I seem to been having similar problems with connectivity. I keep on loosing connection. It seems to be a DNS type problem. If I check my LAN connection it show that it lost the DNS settings from the Netgear router which supposed to have got from WBS network.
Normal comes right after you do a network repair. But there is a massive DROP in speed .... snail mail seems to be faster.

Thanks
