Full Stack Developer

With a fast growing corporate client base covering leading companies across Africa, and as a young emerging tech company which invests in growing its own talent, we have an exciting opening and career development opportunity for a talented web developer to join our high performance team to develop, support and maintain our market leading, cloud-based software solutions.

Day to day activities include the following:

• software development - extend and enhance our Paas recruitment application
• solution design - work with product manager to compile specifications for build items
• product maintenance - maintain and improve single code base
• problem-solving - trouble-shooting and bug-fixing
• documentation - create technical system documentation

Must haves

• solid javascript capability
• at least 2 years experience developing web applications with high transactional volume
• know what it means to be a team player and be able to demonstrate doing so in a similar environment
• a passion for learning and growing in this space

Ideally you should have

• actual experience of functional programming
• actual experience developing with noSQL databases
• a BS degree in Computer Science or related IT field or equivalent education and work experience
• good verbal and written skills
• excellent time management skills
• the ability to work independently to meet deadlines and produce quality work in a fast-paced environment

Ideal skill set

• Javascript (AngularJS a plus)
• Functional programming experience (Haskell/Scala/etc)
• noSQL databases (CouchDB, MongoDB)
• Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Heroku)
• Restful API experience
