Analyst Front-End Developer

A fast growing company in Johannesburg is looking for a strong Analyst Developer to join their dynamic team.
This is a permanent mid career (4+ years) position. The Analyst Front-End Programmer, will be responsible for the technical design, development, maintenance and testing of Financial front-end applications. Previous experience in Software Development in the Financial Stock Market Applications highly recommended.
Position Challenges:
• Design the operations, attributes, & relationships of 1 or several classes, subsystems/applications.
• Development of applications, subsystems, classes.
• Implement (code) components.
• Fix Defects
• Perform Tests
• Implement Test components and Sub-systems
• Review Code
• Design, Implement and Evaluate Tests procedures.
• Execute tests and report test results (product defects).
• Maintenance of existing applications
Programming and technical skills:
• Very Good Visual C++ Skills (MCSD Highly recommended)
• MFC,ATL,STL,COM,Active X,Ability to write COM Components
• Great understanding of Win32
• Some Java Skills
• Some Visual Basic
Nice to have
• GTK
• Linux/Unix
• Experience in .NET & COM would be recommended
•
Operating Systems (Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista)
Software design techniques, including object-oriented analysis and design techniques, and/or UML
The developer will initially have to learn GTK systems for windows environment if no prior experience in GTK
The responsible person will take ownership of assigned projects within the Technical / Design / Development / Testing / Maintenance phases.
