This South African leading financial institution in Gauteng seeks an Analyst Programmer
The candidate will require Matric and an IT Diploma/ BSc Computer Science
5 – 8 years related experience and be willing to be on standby and perform and implement after hours change requests.
The successful candidate will be responsible for analysis, design and development of multi-platform systems at specific application level of an enterprise sub-system
Specializes in procedural / Netcentric systems.
Has an understanding of system functionality at enterprise sub-system level, and understands databases and data relationships and there requirements of change control. Facilitates JAD sessions.
Technically directs system construction at the application level and may be responsible for advanced coding of programmes.
Develops technical specifications/program specifications and produces technical documentation for the system as well as user documentation.
Responsibility for testing and debugging programmes, between programmes at the application level, and the interface between applications and sub-systems.
Provides an advisory service to users and user training.
May operate in the maintenance or new development sector.
Required to provide input into departmental operations (process improvement initiative.
Systems Development:
• Apply principles of creating computer software by developing a complete program to meet given business specifications.
• Demonstrate an understanding of computer software development.
• Manage software development source files using appropriate tools.
• Apply the principles of creating batch and interactive computer programs using a procedural programming language.
• Apply the principles of creating computer programs containing advanced algorithms using a procedural programming language.
• Demonstrate an understanding of documentation for computer applications (including compliance to standards).
• Apply the principles of quality assurance for software development.
• Apply the principles of reviewing an implemented computer application.
• Assemble paper-based documentation for a computer application.
• Standby and support of multiple environments, staff supervision and knowledge transfer to staff.
Architecture (Application):
• Demonstrate an understanding of the implementation of a new computer system.
• Demonstrate an understanding of emerging computerized information and communication systems and technology as well as the implementation of such a computer system and require team work
