Description:
The key purpose of the position is to translate specifications into code, and thereby develop software of a high quality with minimum bugs/errors. The main development language is C# with MS SQL. It will mainly be windows development and the company works in framework 2.0. I need someone with 2 to 4 years relevant experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Maintenance and new development of code and other software products/tools as necessary. There is about 30% new development and 70% maintenance and features.
•To produce detailed specifications for modifications or new features to ensure understanding
•Translate specifications into working code; requirements can then be traced back from the code to the specification(s).
•Building and testing of applications, following the Software Development Lifecycle processes and methodologies.
•Provide support to clients or internally as necessary in regards to the products – or any tools or solutions which support the products – in a timely and thorough manner.
•Handle user issues and provide feedback as to the status of these issues/queries.
•Communication to other departments/teams as to the status of issues where required
•Provide resolutions or formulate workarounds for software issues.
EDUCATION:
•Computer Science Degree / Diploma or suitable experience
•Education in SQL, Database theory, Database administration and Query Languages
•Education in Software development, the Software development Life cycle etc
•Introduction to Programming, programming structure and flow
EXPERIENCE:
•Experience in translating user requirements specifications into working code
•Experience prototyping new development or proof of concept applications
•Experience in C#, MS SQL, Transact-SQL, ADO.NET, COM and XML
•Experience in Crystal Reports
•Experience in testing applications to ensure the code is bug-free and meets the requirements
•Experience using bug tracking software
•Experience using Source Code Repositories
SKILLS:
•Database knowledge applicable over various database platforms / technologies such as SQL Server, Access, FoxPro.
•Skills and knowledge of various programming languages and platforms such as SQL SERVER, .NET (C#), Visual Studio, Crystal Report Designers.
•Ability to learn new languages or technology platforms and be well versed in it (training provided where necessary).
•Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
•O/S Platforms (Window XP, Windows Server 2003/2008, Windows Vista etc)
•Database Platforms (SQL Server, MS ACCESS, FoxPro)
