C++ Developer
Introduction
We want the best C/C++ developers in South Africa to work on carrier-grade telecommunications products. Permanent or contract positions available. Only applicants fulfilling the requirements stated here will be considered.
Minimum Requirements
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent engineering degree) or related field and 5 years work experience, is required
• This position requires a working knowledge of value added services development for the mobile telecommunications industry
• Strong background in a UNIX programming environment
• Minimum of 5 years Programming experience in C/C++ required
• Knowledge in the use and application of other programming languages, such as Perl, Java and SQL
• Development experience in an Object Oriented environment is essential
• Intermediate TCP/IP networking skills considered helpful
• Knowledge of SS7 networking and GSM systems is a considerable advantage
• Working knowledge of software development tools such as version control systems (Subversion), make, Bash shell scripting and commands, and PERL is required
• General functional knowledge in one or more of the following areas is required: Solaris, Linux, BSD Socket API & MySQL
Job Specification
• The ideal candidate for this position must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• The candidate must independently be able to critically review and interpret functional specifications and to develop designs and software within a structured SDLC.
• The candidate needs to be able to test and report on the functional capabilities of their work.
• Demonstrate commitment to process and production and maintenance of accurate design documentation
