DESPATCH CONTROLLER – DISTRIBUTION
We a vacancy for an experienced Despatch Scheduler, reporting to the Despatch and Admin Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 with Accounting.
Diploma in TPT Management/Logistics preferable but not essential.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES
At least 3 years transport experience in planning and scheduling local and long distance transport.
Background in supply chain management an advantage.
Must have a good understanding of The Road Transportation Act and its implications to the Fleet.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package.
Must have the ability to inter-act with co-workers and departments.
Must be a self-starter and have the dedication to complete a job.
Be able to communicate with colleagues in sales as well as with customers.
Any experience within the tube making process environment will be a great benefit.
Must be willing to work overtime as and when required.
Be able to work under pressure.
Be pro-active with regard to managing the distribution to and communication with customers.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Optimal planning and scheduling of daily despatches to customers.
Interacting with his co-workers to ensure the optimal transport efficiency.
Monitoring and managing contract vehicle fleet.
Drafting reports and graphs for management.
Administration of vehicle usage and placement of orders on contractor.
Off-route monitoring of fleet
Monitoring customer off-load behaviour.
