Description:
An opportunity exists to work in the Business Intelligence Department based in Cape Town for a Developer responsible for ongoing implementation, delivery and maintenance of various data mart and warehouse requirements.
JOB OUTPUTS:
Establishment of data marts through ETL processes according to technical specifications
Establish and exercise best practice ETL implementation standards which include data assessment, data cleansing, test cases compilation, post ETL data checking
Maintenance and enhancement of Data Warehouse components
Translation of the output of ETL processes into information layers exposed to information consumers
Timeous delivery of projects
Documentation of processes.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A tertiary degree or diploma in IT, IS or Informatics is required
At least 3 years experience as a developer in a data-related field with first-hand exposure to data systems, databases and information delivery.
Excellent knowledge and experience of data systems, data structures and data models
Excellent knowledge of data quality issues and design of data cleansing/transformation processes
Experience of integrating data from many disparate complex systems
Excellent SQL and/or PL/SQL skills
Experience of creating and maintaining ETL processes will be advantageous
Experience in ETL software (eg Microsoft SSIS, DTS, Talend) will be advantageous
Experience in BI software (eg Cognos, Business Objects etc.) will be advantageous, especially in the modelling components
Experience of the ISP/Internet/Telecommunications industry will be advantageous
