Main Role:
• Our clients Technology division centred in Cape Town currently has a vacancy for a Senior Java Developer who, reporting to the Development Manager, will be responsible and accountable for analysing business requirements and architect solutions for the requirements, as well as maintaining and enhancing current applications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Deliver technical specifications based on agreed User requirements
• Implement software systems according to the accepted to the accepted technical specifications
• Project mange new requirements and enhancements
• Mentor other developers in new Technologies and company development standards and practices
• Implement company development standards and practices
• Code reviews on an ongoing basis
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
Technical Skills & Experience:
• Thorough understanding of object-orientated design principles
• Exposure to service orientated architectures
• 3-5 years experience with Java (1.5 preferred)
• Solid understanding of JDBC and Hibernate
• Solid understanding JSPs and taglibs;understanding of Javascript, CSS and HTML
• Solid understanding of Web Services and exposure to Axis
• 3-5 years experience in SQL database development (Oracle experience preferred)
• Experience with JUnit or similar
• Experience with Tomcat
• Exposure to TDD and agile (SCRUM) development methodologies
• Exposure to Spring will be an advantage
• Domian knowledge will be an advantage
