Main purpose of the Job
To effectively implement through coding standards and in a controlled environment new functionality required either for future clients or enhancing the core functionality of the platform.
Job Outputs
• Interpretation of requirements and development of websites and web applications to meet these requirements, within agreed timeframes.
• Responsible for system development, integration, administration, installation, commissioning and technical support of the various systems or services
• Database design, programming and querying
• Ongoing support and enhancements to websites and web applications
• Maintain and enhance existing development standards, and assume responsibility for development environment
• Identify project risks, and make sure that these are properly communicated to relevant stakeholders.
• Continuous research of new technologies, and sharing of knowledge with colleagues
Skills and Competencies
• Solid understanding of the web and associated interfaces
• Minimum 3 years application and Internet development experience.
• Experience in developing and deploying .NET applications.
• Knowledge on coding standards and processes
• Solid understanding of: C#, ASP.Net 2.0, VB.Net, SQL 2005, XML, RSS, XML Web Services, HTML, DHTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, .Net, Soap Web Services, WAP and WML
• Understanding of Server AND Networking environment
• Solid understanding of Web Servers, IIS and Web Site setup and configuration
• Experience in Broadband development environments and projects will be an advantage
• Drive, Achievement, quality and service orientation
• Ownership – able to take responsibility, troubleshoot problems and proactively implement solutions
• Relationship building, good leader, network builder and mentor
• Adaptable and has team orientation
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, tolerance for stress.
Qualifications and Experience
• B.Sc Computer Science or relevant Microsoft Certification.
