International company (based Midrand) provides advisory, implementation and management services to mining clients in the areas of remote communications, energy provision and management and information technology solutions. Our client is recruiting a dynamic candidate with 3 years plus solid networking and support experience. The candidate will support clients in South Africa and in African countries. This position will involve a lot of travelling to African countries on short notice (candidate will spend 2 days to 3 days max in an African country)

Area: Head office based in Midrand
Type position: Permanent
Remuneration: CTC negotiable depending on candidate’s experience, qualifications and skills.
Requirements:
• Preferably a valid passport (candidate can apply for passport if candidate does not have one)
• Must have own reliable vehicle (candidates without own vehicle will not be considered)
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Candidate will support clients in South Africa but the majority of the clients are based in African countries. Must be willing to travel to African countries on a regular basis (candidate will spend 2 days to 3 days max in an African country unless the client is implementing a project which can take up to 1 week)
• Candidate must not have a fear of heights (Hypsiphobia) because the job entails climbing up masts, bridges, towers etc. to install products.
Skills and experience required:
• Minimum of 3 years solid networking and support experience.
• Must have solid networking, routing, MS Server and MS Exchange 2007 experience.
• Must have solid experience in the installation, configuration, administration and ability to troubleshoot MS Exchange 2007
• Must have solid experience in the installation, configuration, administration and ability to troubleshoot MS Server
• Must have good security and firewall experience and knowledge.
• Must have good experience with VOIP PABX – 3CX or any other similar VOIP product.
• Must have wireless networking experience – install and set up Mikrotik.
Qualifications required (any of the following):
• A+
• N+
• MCSE / MCP
• MIkrotik wireless
Competencies required:
• Ability to adapt to changes quickly.
• Self starter and go getter.
• Independent worker.
• Good problem solver and ability to use initiative.
• Team player.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines in highly pressurised environment.
