They’re looking for mid level BI specialists to take responsibility for new projects at a pure dev level and at Technical Lead level depending on your previous experience; your role will demand in depth SQL knowledge across the 3 major areas – BI , Dev and DBA although they need core skills within the BI space. Technical spec below:
Must have solid knowledge of SQL statements – stored procedures, triggers, cursors and general scripting;
At least 2 years SSIS;
At least experience of cubing using SSAS; knowledge/understanding of MDX essential;
Fluent SSRS;
Good Database Design skills;
An understanding of Database Administration, normalisation, star schemas etc… This is a knowledge area rather than an expectation that you can fill a DBA role.
Obviously you’ll need strong SQL Server skills generally; typically you’ll use both SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 – any knowledge of SQL 2010 would be useful.
Permanent; Bryanston; negotiable between R25K and R35K ctc – based on experience
