Knowledge and Skills Required:
Product Knowledge-Hardware:
• Printers: Configure, Install, Troubleshoot and Maintain Network-Ready printers
• Workstations and Notebooks: Assemble, Install, Configure, Fault-Find. Maintain on a Server Domain
• Servers and Backup devices: Fault-Find and Maintain on a Server Domain
Product Knowledge-Softwareware:
• Microsoft Office (all versions): Configuration, Patch-Management and Support
• Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7: Configuration & Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Patch-Management, Virus/Spyware Management, Event-Log Investigation
• Windows Server 2003/2008 Standard and Small Business Edition / Premium/Enterprise: Configuration & Maintenance, Patch-Management, Virus/Spyware Management, Event-Log Investigation, Backup Management (Troubleshooting experience beneficial)
• Cabling: Plan, Implement, Install, Troubleshoot, Maintain and Document CAT5e/CAT6 Infrastructure Networks
• Ethernet/Internet: Plan, Implement, Install, Troubleshoot and Maintain LAN, Wireless LAN (VPN and WAN Setup and Maintenance experience beneficial), ADSL & DDNS Configuration
Other Requirements:
• Completed Matric / Grade 12
• Must have reliable transport
• Must have a VALID driver’s license
• 3 to 4 years Technical support experience
• 3 to 4 years structured LAN cabling experience
• 3 to 4 years onsite Technical support experience
• Fully bilingual English / Afrikaans
• Preferably be a non-smoker
This position is for an ONSITE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN and candidates should have experience as such. A technical skills matrix will be required as well as a practical test during interview.
