Expanding online digital marketing company is looking for a JAVA Developer.
Code: Focussed on Java, with opportunities to code in C and PHP.
Databases: Must have basic MySQL knowledge.
Support: Support and maintenance of the existing application infrastructure.
Standby: Standby, on call and support of the application cluster.
Architecture: Architecture and design recommendations and implementations.
Documentation: Author documents as required.
Version Control: Control code sources and Subversion management.
Mentoring: Mentor and coach the engineering team through their knowledge growth and domain knowledge cycles.
Assertiveness: ability to convince others of right course of action and to explain a point of view convincingly.
Verbal Communication: good interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills and able to communicate clearly.
Written Communication: ability to write clear and concise documents, etc.
Customer Focus: identify and effectively respond to the diverse needs of development department’s customers.
Team Working: able to work reliably and responsibly with internal and external colleagues to achieve development and organisational goals as a member of a team.
Individual Working: able to work alone and to reliably and responsibly achieve development and organisational goals.
Experience: Experience in high transactional development environments in excess of five years will be advantageous.
• Experience with Java, Object-oriented design principles, Web Services and SOA, JSP, and HTML
• Good knowledge of building Java/J2EE Web applications. Experience with using frameworks such as SPRING.
• Must have knowledge about Web App Security, LDAP integration, etc.
• Experience working with various relational databases.
• Good understanding of using caching solutions EHCahe, memcache
• Demonstrated focus on quality (unit testing, system testing, user acceptance testing)
• Experience working with multi-tiered Java applications with a focus on the data tier.
• Experience developing data access layers using ORM tools.
Qualification: Computer Science related degree, diploma or appropriate qualification.
