A global Internet company with a development centre in Cape Town is looking for passionate, experienced software developers / engineers. You will be working alongside some of the best developers in SA to develop a revolutionary platform for Cloud Computing. Most of the development will be in Java, however you need to be language agnostic and believe in using the right tool for the job! Not just the latest and greatest!
You would need to have a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science and ideally have practical experience building large-scale distributed systems. You should be someone who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly not only about building good software but about making that software achieve its goals in operational reality. Experience with web-based applications and/or web services-based applications, especially at massive scale, is also helpful.

- Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with people and be both highly motivated and motivating.
- Experience with Java, Linux/Unix, Perl, XML, Web services, and UNIX tools.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
